The Healthy Nevada Leadership Board is made up of community leaders each representing a different sector to bring every aspect of the community together. The board is responsible for directing the Healthy Nevada project in funding requests, strategic planning and sustainability. Meet our board members below!

Carol is from Neosho, MO and attended Franklin Technical School. In her professional career, Carol has acted as the Deputy County Collector for Newton County, Personnel Manager for International Multifoods in Chicago, Illinois, the City of Nevada Missouri Parks & Recreation Director and the current Housing Authority Executive Director. Carol is a charter member of the Vernon County Cancer Relief Fund, a member of Rotary and president of the Healthy Nevada Leadership Board. She is a member of the First Baptist Church and says that she has “always had a passion for working with and impacting the lives of people.” Carol has three children with her husband Ron Branham and six grandchildren.
Alyson Harder, MSW, LCSW, LSCSW
CEO, Heartland Behavioral Health Services
Vice President, Healthy Nevada
Alyson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing counseling and therapy to children and families, trauma victims and military personnel in the state of Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. She is the CEO of Heartland Behavioral Health Services where she manages a 150 bed child and adolescent hospital, $16M budget, and staff of over 200. Alyson graduated from the University of Arkansas with a B.S. in Education and the University of Kansas with a M.S. in Social Work. In her free time she enjoys running in the Alive at 5 running club, yard work, planting flowers, watching her children play sports, reading and learning. She attends All Saints Episcopal church and her life statement is “I will change the world, one child and one family at a time.” Alyson has been married for 15 years to Matt and has three children, Branden (14), Abby (10) and Drew (4).

JD has served as City Manager of Nevada since 2010. His responsibilities include policy development and execution, oversight of the budget, management of all city departments and employees, economic development, and administration of capital projects. He serves as treasurer on the Healthy Nevada board, sits on the Board of Directors for Midwest Public Risk and is the Chairman of the Western Missouri 911 Board of Directors. JD and his wife of 16 years have two young daughters. In his free time, he enjoys hunting and fly fishing.

Kevin Leeper is a highly accomplished Executive Healthcare Manager with 38 years of leadership in driving revenue, building successful management teams, and refocusing under-performing departments towards growth and profit curves. A committed, service minded leader who has spent his last twenty years in rural communities where the resident customers and civic leaders are the true bosses to whom he reports. He has been married to Marla for the past eighteen years and together they have five children and eight grandchildren, all in Texas, where they spent their college and subsequent years until their arrival to Nevada in the summer of 2014. They are a couple of faith who also love to travel, cook for large groups, swim, enjoy all kinds of music and the great outdoors, dabble in woodworking projects, and tinker with whatever grows in dirt.

Erik currently leads the Healthy Nevada Project in Vernon County, Missouri. His vision is for Vernon County to be the community model for health and wellness. Previously, Erik was a Client Results Executive where he managed the long-term Cerner relationship with Mayo Clinic.
Erik began working at Cerner in 1999 as a Product Specialist. He was chosen to work with the Mayo Clinic and moved to Jacksonville, Florida. He returned to Kansas City in 2003 working as a Business Analyst for the client service organization.
Erik received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Master’s degree in Health Care Administration from the Henry F. Bloch School of Business. Recently Erik graduated from Cerner's Leadership Academy Program.
Erik and his wife Mary have two kids, Bailey (7) and Landon (4). In his spare time, Erik enjoys traveling, scuba diving, hunting and spending time with his family.
